Compound brief
Thymosin alpha-1
Evidence brief. Not treatment advice or a safety clearance. Last evidence update: September 2026.
What researchers are studying it for
A defined thymic peptide. It is not the actin-binding thymosin beta-4 protein and not the LKKTETQ fragment sold as TB-500. The stored direction on T cells is modulation, not a CD4 count.
The immune name is not a treatment for infection, cancer, or HIV. The 2023 prostate paper used thymosin alpha-1 with other drugs. That paper is the research note, not an indication.
There is some research that suggests thymosin alpha-1, together with zoledronic acid, slowed a mouse prostate-cancer graft and brought more cytotoxic T cells into it. That mouse arm used five animals. The same paper looked back at people with advanced or metastatic prostate cancer who had androgen deprivation plus zoledronic acid plus thymosin alpha-1, and the authors report better outcomes, which they link to more T cells. The patient count was not extracted. This is the combination, not thymosin alpha-1 by itself, and it is not a treatment instruction. Sheng Wang et al., 2023. Journal for ImmunoTherapy of Cancer. PMID 37295817.
Pathway
Thymic epithelial peptides are part of how immature T cells finish maturing. Thymosin alpha-1 is the 28-residue piece used as a drug substance in some countries.
That maturation signal is not a measured rise in a CD4 count on this sheet, and it is not the actin pathway of thymosin beta-4.

Thymosin name collision · unverified
Forums shorten both thymosin alpha-1 and thymosin beta-4 to thymosin, then stack either one with BPC-157. Alpha-1 is a 28-residue thymic peptide. Beta-4 is the actin peptide behind the TB-500 naming problem. The posts are not a certificate of analysis.
Theme summarized from public discussion. Not a quoted post, not a trial, and not a dose.
